Musician Liisi Koikson: everyday life was cutting me off from my music
Estonian musician Liisi Koikson opened up about losing her connection to music due to the demands of everyday life. She has since taken greater control of her life and is now writing new music, with an album expected later this year.
KultuurEstonian musician Liisi Koikson has spoken candidly about a difficult period in her creative life, revealing that the pressures of day-to-day routines had begun to erode her musical identity. Speaking on the television programme "Hommik Anuga", Koikson admitted that ordinary life had gradually taken over to the point where she felt herself losing the very qualities that made her a strong musician.
Koikson described the experience as a slow drift away from her craft — not a dramatic break, but a quiet erosion caused by the relentless pace of daily responsibilities. She said she began to notice that what had always come naturally to her as an artist was starting to slip away.
However, the musician says things have since turned around. Koikson has taken a more deliberate approach to her life, carving out the time and space needed to reconnect with her creativity. She is now actively writing new material and has confirmed that a new album is set to be released before the end of the year.
