French tennis prodigy Moise Kouame, just 17 years old, produced one of the biggest upsets at Roland Garros on Tuesday, defeating veteran Marin Cilic — a player 20 years his senior — in the first round of the home Grand Slam tournament in Paris.

Kouame, competing on home soil in front of a passionate French crowd, showed remarkable composure to dispatch the experienced Croatian former champion Cilic. The victory marks a significant milestone for the teenager, who advanced to the second round of a Grand Slam event for the first time in his career.

The day's drama was not limited to Kouame's exploits. World number eight Daniil Medvedev also made an early exit from Roland Garros, suffering an unexpected defeat in the opening round. Medvedev, one of the tournament's seeded contenders, had been expected to make a deep run in the competition.
