Maris Kukk (54) from Puurmani is proof that starting a new life is never too late. The woman who spent two decades working in customer service could not have imagined she would ever become an entrepreneur – until life presented her with new challenges.

Redundancy and the health problems that followed forced Kukk to think more deeply about her future. Rather than desperately searching for a new paid job, she made a bold decision: to learn a new profession and establish her own cleaning company.

Today, Kukk has been recognised as learner of the year – a title that reflects her dedication and desire to grow. She is particularly proud that all her clients have come through word-of-mouth referrals. "I've gained all my clients through word-of-mouth recommendations!" she says cheerfully.

Maris Kukk's story shows that entrepreneurship can begin in the most difficult period of one's life. Her experience inspires others who face job loss or health problems not to give up, but rather to seek new opportunities.
