Actor Kristjan Sarv on Vikerradio: alcohol led me into the abyss
Actor Kristjan Sarv spoke on Vikerradio's "Käbi ei kuku" show about his near-death experience and complicated relationship with alcohol. Sarv admitted that being expelled from school led him into a dark place, from which his passion for culture and the arts rescued him. His mother Talvi also participated in the programme.

"This passion for culture and the arts kept me afloat. Otherwise I would have drunk myself to death entirely, because that danger was real at times," Sarv admitted on the programme. According to the actor, being expelled from school once thrust him into a true abyss, and finding his way out was not easy.
Kristjan Sarv added that he had already given himself up for dead in his mind — but it was precisely culture and art that gave him a reason to carry on. Today he is one of Estonia's most recognised actors, and his career speaks for itself.
"Käbi ei kuku" is a popular talk show on Vikerradio that often focuses on how parents and children have influenced each other. Kristjan Sarv and his mother Talvi discussed together both the role of family and the importance of personal development during difficult periods in life.
