On Friday, the ninth gala evening of the Tallinn Polytechnic Film Festival took place at the Sõprus cinema in Tallinn, where Estonia's most outstanding young film talents were honoured and the best short films were announced.

As a major surprise, a new name emerged on the Estonian film landscape: the best actress award was won by Loviise Võigemast, whose parents are well-known Estonian actors Evelin and Priit Võigemast. It appears that acting talent runs in the family from generation to generation.

The festival's top prize was won by Säde Sibula's short film "One Day or A Day One", in which Loviise Võigemast also participated. Over the years, the festival has become an important platform where young film enthusiasts can present their work to a wider audience and gain professional feedback.
