Anett Kontaveit on padel: "Padel is not as stressful as tennis, but I always want to win!"
Estonian tennis legend Anett Kontaveit has discovered a new passion in the sport of padel and won first place in a tournament. Although she acknowledges that padel is less demanding than professional tennis at the highest level, her competitive drive remains unchanged. Kontaveit confirms that her will to win has not diminished.

"Padel is not as stressful as tennis, but I always want to win!" Kontaveit said after securing first place. According to her, padel provides a more relaxed environment compared to tennis, but that does not mean she has abandoned her ambitions.
Padel is a racquet sport that has become explosively popular in Europe in recent years, combining elements of tennis and squash and played on courts surrounded by glass walls. Many former top tennis players have found a new home in this sport.
Kontaveit ended her professional tennis career in 2023 due to health issues. Nevertheless, her success in padel shows that her sporting talent and competitive drive are still very much alive, just in a new form.
