Book blogger on Freida McFadden's 'Never Lie': first my eyes rolled, then I couldn't put it down

Book blogger Mariann Vendelin reviews Freida McFadden's bestselling thriller 'Never Lie', which tells the story of a job that seems too good to be true. Although the book has long been popular and the film was released months ago, the wait was worth it thanks to a friend's annotated copy with handwritten comments.

Book blogger Mariann Vendelin has finally picked up Freida McFadden's bestselling thriller 'Never Lie', and admits that her first impression wasn't particularly enthusiastic.

The book tells the story of a job that seems too good to be true, a classic starting point for the thriller and horror genre that initially made Vendelin sceptical. However, her eye-rolling quickly gave way to reading addiction that wouldn't let her put the book down.

The real added value came this time from the copy she received from a friend, which was filled with handwritten comments. These margin notes added an entirely new dimension to the reading experience, almost like reading with two voices at once.

McFadden's 'Never Lie' has received widespread international attention: the book has also been adapted into a film, which reached screens several months ago. According to Vendelin, the wait was worth it because the combination of the book's content and her friend's comments made the experience special.
