Bulgaria's three-wheeled Halfbike offers new urban riding experience
The three-wheeled Halfbike, developed by a Bulgarian company, combines features of a bicycle and a scooter while operating on a completely different principle. The vehicle has recently undergone renovation and promises smoother and more stable riding in urban traffic.
TechnologyUrban transport has welcomed an unusual new vehicle: the three-wheeled Halfbike, developed by a Bulgarian company, which at first glance recalls familiar elements from both bicycles and scooters, but operates on an entirely different principle.
Halfbike is a compact, standing three-wheeled machine that is propelled by a complex crank system. Unlike a conventional bicycle, the rider does not sit on a saddle but stands upright while riding, making the experience both more physically active and visually striking.
The vehicle has recently undergone thorough renovation, during which the manufacturer has improved both the steering system and overall stability. According to the maker, the updated version delivers a smoother riding experience than before, making Halfbike use more comfortable in an urban environment.
The three-wheeled design offers better balance compared to a regular scooter, particularly when standing still and riding at low speeds. However, riding the Halfbike requires practice, as the crank technique differs significantly from that of a classical bicycle.
