Coop Pank offers 100,000 reservists discounted home loans in June
Coop Pank is expanding its home defence loan terms to all reservists throughout June to mark Reservists' Week. The offer includes a lower interest margin and reimbursement of property valuation and loan insurance costs.
EstoniaEstonian Coop Pank is offering 100,000 reservists access to more favourable home loan conditions during June, coinciding with the annual Reservists' Week. The bank is broadening the scope of its so-called home defender home loan to cover all reservists, not just those in active home defence units.
The improved terms include a reduced interest margin on mortgages, meaning monthly repayments will be lower than standard market rates. In addition, the bank will cover the cost of a professional property valuation and reimburse loan insurance payments — expenses that typically add a significant upfront burden for borrowers.
The initiative reflects a growing trend among Estonian financial institutions to recognise and reward voluntary national defence participation. With Estonia's security environment remaining tense given the ongoing conflict in Ukraine and the proximity of Russian forces, boosting reservist participation has become a political and social priority.
Coop Pank's offer runs for the entire month of June, giving eligible reservists a window to apply for or refinance a home loan under the more competitive conditions. The bank has not specified a cap on the number of applicants or the total loan volume available under the scheme.
