Russia's war against Ukraine reached day 1584 on Friday, 26 June 2025. Russian leader Vladimir Putin launched a full-scale invasion of Ukraine on 24 February 2022, and after Ukraine successfully repelled the offensive against Kyiv, the main fighting has concentrated in the eastern and southern parts of the country.

Zelenskyy meets von der Leyen

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen met to discuss the question of equipping Ukraine's armed forces. The meeting took place at a time when Ukraine continues to need additional military support to withstand Russian attacks on the front lines.

War continues on eastern and southern fronts

The conflict, which has lasted over four years, has caused extensive human suffering and significantly changed the security situation across Europe, including in the Baltic states. Fighting continues in eastern and southern Ukraine, where both sides seek to hold or shift the front line.
