Elmar Vaher: New ammunition storage facilities being built across Estonia

The director of the State Defence Investment Centre announced that new ammunition storage facilities are being completed across Estonia. The construction is driven by the continuously growing quantities of ammunition arriving in the country.

Estonia is actively constructing ammunition storage facilities as the volume of ammunition arriving in the country continues to grow, said Elmar Vaher, director of the State Defence Investment Centre (SDIC), in an ERR web broadcast "Direct from the Newsroom".

According to Vaher, storage facility construction is taking place across Estonia to ensure adequate storage capacity for growing supplies. Increasing ammunition reserves is part of Estonia's broader plan to strengthen national defence.

Growing ammunition reserves have become a central theme in Estonian defence policy in recent years, particularly given the escalating security situation in the region. Investments in infrastructure are necessary to properly store new ammunition purchases and to enable their rapid deployment when needed.
