British actress Emilia Clarke has publicly commented on long-circulating rumours about Game of Thrones actors' allegedly enormous salaries, saying that reality falls far short of the legends.

Clarke played the role of Daenerys Targaryen, the Mother of Dragons, in the cult series across all eight seasons starting from 2011. Although she admitted the series brought her substantial income, she refuted claims about episode fees running into the millions. "Can you imagine? If that were the case, I'd be driving around in a couple of Porsches!" she remarked with irony.

HBO's hugely popular fantasy series Game of Thrones is based on George R. R. Martin's novel series and garnered worldwide fame over the years. The show's stars quickly became international superstars, and the media began speculating about the scale of their earnings, with unverified figures repeatedly circulated.
