EstoniaOn Wednesday, 10 June, the Rescue Board conducted a nationwide population alert system EE-ALARM test together with partners. In the afternoon, the state siren network was activated, which also includes equipment located in small towns.
During the test, automated notifications were sent to mobile applications Eesti Äpp and "Ole valmis!", which are designed to deliver official alerts to residents' smartphones. In addition, warning messages were displayed on the screens of ERR television and radio stations.
The EE-ALARM system aims to ensure rapid and reliable alert capability in case of accidents, natural disasters or other hazardous situations. Regular tests are necessary to ensure the reliability of all system components and residents' awareness of the meaning of alert signals.
During the test, data was collected on the siren network's performance in small town areas, which makes it possible to assess coverage and identify potential weak points in the alert system.
