EstoniaThe Estonian Ministry of Finance has announced that KPMG Baltics OÜ's proposal won an international tender for creating a new state budget IT system. The new system is designed to replace the fragmented budget information systems currently in use that have reached the end of their lifecycle.
Currently, the Estonian state manages the budget process through multiple separate platforms that do not form a cohesive solution. The new information system will consolidate state budget planning into a single digital environment, which should make budget preparation and management significantly more efficient.
KPMG Baltics OÜ, the winner of the tender, is the Baltic region unit of the international consulting and audit firm KPMG and has experience in public sector digital projects. The Ministry of Finance did not disclose the exact contract value in its public announcement, but it is a multi-million-euro investment to modernize the infrastructure for state financial management.
