Estonia national volleyball team head coach Alar Rikberg expressed satisfaction with the team's start to the European League, noting three consecutive victories. He also addressed critics who viewed the start of summer less positively, commenting that responding to 'stupidity' is generally not wise.
SportEstonia national volleyball team head coach Alar Rikberg has responded to online critics after his side made a solid start to the European League campaign, securing three wins and steadily climbing toward their true competitive level.
«Our situation improves with each passing week, and three convincing victories give reason for satisfaction. We are already quite close to our real level,» said Alar Rikberg, assessing the team's opening performances in the European League.
Rikberg's comments came in response to a wave of criticism from spectators and online commentators who had taken a more negative view of Estonia's early summer form. The head coach, however, was not particularly concerned by the noise from the sidelines.
«It is generally not wise to respond to stupidity,» Rikberg remarked pointedly, making clear that outside criticism would not distract the team from its preparations and development.
With the European League still in progress, the Estonian coaching staff appears confident that the squad is on an upward trajectory, building momentum and cohesion as the competition advances.
