Estonian customs authority apprehends Serbian citizen with six kilos of amphetamine in Pärnu County

Officers from the Estonian Tax and Customs Board (MTA) investigation department stopped a car driven by a Serbian citizen on 14 June in Pärnu County, in which they found approximately six kilograms of a white powder consistent with amphetamine. The man was arrested and a criminal investigation was initiated, led by the Western Circuit Prosecutor's Office.

Drug dog identified multiple locations in vehicle

After an initial vehicle inspection and questioning of the driver, customs officers decided to conduct a more thorough search. A service dog trained in detecting narcotics marked several different locations in the car. During the search, customs officers found multiple transparent packets containing white powder inside the vehicle. The total amount came to approximately six kilograms of suspected amphetamine.

Criminal investigation underway

The Serbian citizen was arrested and a criminal investigation was initiated against him. The investigation is being conducted by the MTA investigation department, and the case is being led by the Western Circuit Prosecutor's Office. The suspect is currently in custody.
