Estonian households to pay 7.32 monthly fixed charge for gas

From this summer, Estonian households will pay a monthly fixed charge of 7.32 for gas. This will be supplemented by a consumption-based charge of 0.008955 per kilowatt-hour, equivalent to approximately 11 cents per cubic metre.

Estonia

Estonian households will be subject to a new gas fixed charge from this summer, which amounts to 7.32 per month. This means that every gas customer will have to pay a fixed monthly fee regardless of how much gas is actually consumed.

In addition to the fixed charge, there is also a consumption-dependent component — 0.008955 per kilowatt-hour, which corresponds to approximately 11 cents per cubic metre. Thus, a household's gas bill will henceforth consist of two parts: a fixed monthly charge and a charge based on actual consumption.

The new tariff system will take effect in the summer and will affect all Estonian households that use gas. The change will introduce a fixed minimum cost for gas users even during periods of lower consumption, such as summer months.
