Estonian insurers advise reviewing travel insurance before summer holidays

As the summer holiday and school break travel season approaches, the Estonian Insurance Association reminds travellers that choosing travel insurance warrants careful consideration and checking whether existing coverage is sufficient for unexpected situations.

In recent years, geopolitical tensions and financial difficulties in the aviation sector have resulted in more cancelled flights and disrupted travel plans. This can happen even when the traveller has done nothing wrong, which is precisely why good travel insurance has become more important than ever before.

The insurance association emphasises that travellers should definitely review what their policy covers before travelling. It is important to check whether the insurance reimburses medical expenses in the destination country, costs resulting from flight cancellations as well as additional expenses related to luggage loss or delays.
