The Estonian Students' Association Publishing House has published a new memoir, authored by August Leps (1896-1972), a lawyer, politician and intellectual who joined the association in 1918, whose life story reflects one of the most complex periods in Estonian history.

After his studies, Leps worked as a lawyer in Rakvere and went on to high politics, serving in the composition of parliament's fourth and fifth sessions. In 1944, fleeing Soviet occupation, he left for Sweden, where he lived in Uppsala until his death in 1972.

The memoirs were written during his time in exile and shed light on Leps's youth. The work is part of the Estonian Students' Association Publishing House's publication series, which brings valuable historical memory to readers both living in Estonia and to diaspora communities that grew up abroad.
