Estonian Woman Now Owns Three Alpacas: These Animals Surprise with Their Habits
Content creator Älis Heinmets, who shares rural life and DIY projects, recently became the owner of three alpacas. She describes the animals' extraordinary qualities, calm temperament, useful wool, and well-behaved habits.
CultureInspired by rural living and DIY projects, content creator Älis Heinmets has taken a new step-she is now a proud owner of three alpacas. Heinmets shares her experiences on social media, and the alpacas have proven to be a true find in her household.
The owner describes alpacas as exceptionally calm animals that surprisingly require very little change to one's living arrangements. Rather than worrying about grazing, the alpacas mow the grass themselves-essentially a natural lawn mower.
One of the biggest surprises is the animals' tidiness: alpacas defecate in only one specific spot and do not go anywhere else, even waiting in queue if necessary. This makes keeping them considerably easier than many other animals.
In addition, the alpacas provide valuable wool, which is a real bonus for craft enthusiasts and DIY lovers. Heinmets notes that the animals also tend not to escape from the enclosure, which gives the owner additional peace of mind.
Alpaca farming is growing increasingly popular in Estonia. These South American relatives of the camel are well-suited to small farms, and their wool is used both in home craft workshops and for sale.
