Applications have opened for the 2026 Best Organic Producer and Best Organic Product competitions. The Best Organic Producer competition accepts candidates until 15 July, and the Best Organic Product competition until 28 August. Both competitions are being held for the seventeenth consecutive year.
EstoniaThe Estonian Organic Farming Foundation has opened applications for two organic food recognition competitions, "Best Organic Producer 2026" and "Best Organic Product 2026". Applications for the first competition are accepted until 15 July, and for the second until 28 August 2026.
Both competitions are being held for the seventeenth consecutive year this year, making them among the longest-running organic food recognition events in Estonia.
A representative of the Estonian Organic Farming Foundation, Airi Vetemaa, stressed that the importance of local food production has become increasingly clear in today's world. "Production that relies as much as possible on local resources and does not depend heavily on imported feed, fertilizers and plant protection products helps strengthen our food security," she explained.
Vetemaa pointed out that most organic food processors are small businesses for which competing successfully in the market has become increasingly difficult in the current challenging economic environment. For this reason, she considers it particularly important to highlight and value their work and contribution.
