Estonia's state budget left 1.75 billion euros unused last year
Estonia's 19.5 billion euro state budget for 2024 left 1.75 billion euros unused, representing nine per cent of the total budget. This is several hundred million euros less than the previous year, when 2.1 billion euros went unspent.
EconomyLast year's execution of Estonia's state budget resulted in approximately 1.75 billion euros remaining unused — accounting for nine per cent of the entire 19.5 billion euro budget. The volume of unused funds has declined over the years, but remains significantly high.
Compared with 2023, the amount of unused money has decreased by several hundred million euros: the year before, 2.1 billion euros of the budgeted allocation went unspent. The decline shows that state institutions have begun coping better with budget planning and expenditure implementation, but the proportion of unused funds remains quite substantial.
