CultureTallinn artist Inna Tyrikova's solo exhibition "M.ART" has opened at Sillamäe Museum. At the heart of the exhibition are paintings inspired by the ancient traditional Mezen painting of northern Russia, complemented by decorative and applied art works that support the exhibition's cohesive concept.
Mezen painting is one of Russia's oldest folk art traditions, characterised by geometric patterns and stylised depictions of animals and people. Tyrikova has combined this ancient art tradition with a contemporary approach, creating a dialogue between past and present.
The exhibition offers residents of Sillamäe and visitors to the region an opportunity to experience a distinctive artistic vision that merges traditional folk art with the contemporary visual language of a modern artist.
