Expansion of Tallinn's state gymnasiums depends on government funding

The Ministry of Education and Science and the City of Tallinn are holding discussions on restructuring the capital's school network. Currently, no school closures or separate gymnasium developments are planned, but expansion of the state gymnasium network is under serious consideration. Implementation of the plans depends on the availability of state funding.

Estonia

The Ministry of Education and Science and the City of Tallinn have begun discussions on the future of the capital's school network. These discussions focus primarily on how to restructure existing schools and whether and how to expand the state gymnasium network in Tallinn.

At present, there are no plans to close any schools or separate gymnasium divisions from existing schools. However, serious consideration is being given to increasing the number of state gymnasiums in the capital, which would provide more students with the opportunity to study in a state-run gymnasium.

The implementation of these plans is not certain, however, as it depends directly on how much the state is willing to invest in education. The availability of state funding is therefore the key factor that will determine whether and when Tallinn's school network will change.
