Finnair launches four weekly direct flights between Helsinki and Kuressaare
Finnish airline Finnair has launched direct flights from Helsinki to Kuressaare. The new route supplements existing connections to Tallinn and Tartu, operating four times weekly throughout the summer season.
EstoniaFinnair began regular direct flights from Helsinki to Kuressaare from Monday, summer 2025, introducing a new international air connection to Saaremaa. The route operates four times weekly throughout the summer season.
With the opening of the new route, travel from Saaremaa to Finland has become significantly easier. From Kuressaare, one can now reach Helsinki faster than the nearby town of Orissaare, which is only 50 kilometres away. This clearly illustrates how air connections can fundamentally alter geographical distance.
Finnair has added Kuressaare to its route network in addition to existing flights to Tallinn and Tartu. Tourism to Saaremaa has grown in recent years, and the direct connection to Finland opens new opportunities for both tourists and local businesses.
