Taavi Eilat also candidated for the same position, having previously made his candidacy public. Eilat and Värk are known as good colleagues and friends, which made their competition an unusual situation.
After the results were announced, Eilat publicly shared his thoughts and feelings. He admits that his heart harbours multiple conflicting emotions at once-disappointment at his loss, but also genuine joy and gratitude. For such candour, Eilat stands out as a person capable of honestly describing his inner world even in a difficult situation.
