EU Foreign Policy Chief Kaja Kallas has announced that a new mini-sanctions package against Russia will be approved at the EU Foreign Affairs Council meeting in Luxembourg on 15 June. The package adds over 80 names, including Russian propagandists, human rights violators, and companies linked to Russia's military-industrial complex.

This is another step in the European Union's continued pressure campaign against Russia in connection with the war in Ukraine. Inclusion on the sanctions list means asset freezes for the persons and entities involved, as well as travel bans to EU member states.

Previous EU sanctions packages have progressively expanded the circle of individuals and organizations held responsible for supporting Russia's military operations, spreading propaganda, or committing human rights violations. The new mini-package continues this trend, specifically adding propagandists and actors linked to the military-industrial sector.
