Keili Sükijainen Got Permission to Film in New York from Netflix Star While Already on the Plane
One of the most exciting stories in the second season of the Estonian travel show "Golden Ticket" unfolded in New York, where host Keili Sükijainen met Eleonora Srugo, the star of Netflix's real estate reality series. Filming permission was obtained at the last moment, with Keili already on her way to the US. Behind the meeting was months of persistent communication by executive producer Kätlin Karama Martins.
CultureOne of the most memorable episodes of the Estonian travel show "Golden Ticket" in its second season took host Keili Sükijainen to New York, where she met Eleonora Srugo, a luxury broker known from the Netflix series "Selling the City".
The Idea Was Born on Instagram
According to executive producer Kätlin Karama Martins, Eleonora Srugo caught Keili's eye on Instagram, and the entire team immediately thought she was an exciting and distinctive person. "I watched her Netflix series and thought that this world is absolutely crazy," said Karama Martins, describing how she herself became increasingly enthusiastic about the idea.
The first contact with Srugo went surprisingly smoothly, but the further process required considerably more patience. "With people like this, you can't just send one message and arrange a meeting. Often you just have to be persistent and say the right things at the right time," Karama Martins smiles. Months of communication finally paid off.
Holding Our Breath Until the Last Minute
The entire team held its breath until the final moment. "That moment when I could tell Keili that we could go was incredible. She was already on a plane heading to the US when we got the final confirmation," recalled Karama Martins.
Additional pressure came from the fact that Eleonora postponed the meeting several times during the day, as her schedule constantly changed based on the needs of billionaire clients. Uncertainty was further increased by the fact that, even shortly before filming, it was unclear exactly where the filming would take place, and the crew needed insurance arranged through a US partner to gain access to the property.
A Mansion Worth $30 Million
Despite the obstacles, the meeting was ultimately successful. Together with Eleonora, Keili visited a mansion on the Upper West Side worth nearly $30 million, whose six floors, enormous walk-in closet and marble staircase, according to her, looked like a scene from a Hollywood film.
The creative team behind "Golden Ticket" season two includes, in addition to Keili Sükijainen and Kätlin Karama Martins, director Laur Lugima, editor Mari Fleming, cinematographers Alexander Subrakov, Ivar Heinmaa and Madis Reimund, and editor Elar Järvet. The show can be watched exclusively on Elisa Huub.
