Konnov: Social Democrats' smear campaign in Tallinn becomes utterly absurd

Nõmme District Elder Gerry Konnov has criticised social democrats Kaarel Oja and Rasmus Rask for allegedly spreading misinformation and outright lies about a single family in the media. Konnov believes the opposition is using the media to attack a family that has done nothing to deserve it.

Nõmme District Elder Gerry Konnov has spoken out against the social democrats, accusing them of orchestrating a malicious smear campaign. Konnov is particularly troubled by what he sees as the use of media to attack a single family that has given no cause for such treatment.

According to Konnov, social democrats Kaarel Oja and Rasmus Rask have disseminated half-truths and outright falsehoods across both print media and radio. In the district elder's view, this amounts to a coordinated opposition campaign that has become utterly absurd from a human perspective.

"It's tremendously difficult to stay silent when I see the media, at the opposition's behest, attacking a family that has in no way deserved it," Konnov writes. He stresses that such conduct exceeds the reasonable bounds of political opposition.

Konnov suggests that he can no longer stand by silently while innocent people are publicly attacked. His criticism is directed primarily at the social democrat politicians, whom he holds responsible for spreading false information in the Estonian media.
