KredEx bribery case: some accused found guilty through plea agreement
The Economic and Corruption Crimes Directorate of the Office of the Prosecutor General has brought charges against Baltic Property Construction OÜ and its board members Kristjan Soomets and Meelis Karro in connection with a bribery scheme related to KredEx apartment building renovation grant procurement. Technical consultant Rivo Soo and company SP Group OÜ, who participated in the same case, have already been found guilty through plea agreement proceedings. The remaining accused's case continues in court.

Charges were brought against Baltic Property Construction OÜ and the company's board members Kristjan Soomets and Meelis Karro, who are suspected of involvement in a corruption scheme aimed at influencing state procurement procedures.
Plea agreement has concluded part of the case
One part of the criminal case has already been concluded: technical consultant Rivo Soo and company SP Group OÜ have been found guilty through plea agreement proceedings. Plea agreement proceedings allow the accused to admit guilt in exchange for a lighter sentence, which significantly accelerates court proceedings.
The case against Baltic Property Construction OÜ and Soomets and Karro continues in regular court proceedings, where the prosecution must prove guilt in full.
