Kristina Kallas: I thank Alar Karis for his work as president

The leader of the Estonian party Eesti 200, Kristina Kallas, expressed personal gratitude to departing president Alar Karis, noting that taking on the presidency five years ago was a significant step. Kallas emphasised that serving as president during a complex and politically polarised period has not been an easy task for Karis.

Kristina Kallas, chair of Eesti 200, expressed gratitude to president Alar Karis, whose tenure as head of state is drawing to a close.

"Karis took on this responsibility five years ago and that was a big thing," said Kallas, emphasising that taking on the presidency represented a considerable personal commitment for Karis.

According to Kallas, it has not been an easy task for Karis to serve as president during a time characterised by political tensions and polarisation in society. Despite the difficult circumstances, Karis maintained his position according to Kallas's assessment and fulfilled the role of head of state responsibly.
