CultureMusician, writer and versatile creative figure Mart Sander revealed on the show "Touch Me" that he keeps at home a piece of one of Estonia's most famous mysterious sites, the Merivälja object. He considers the item special because some people believe it could be made of extraterrestrial material.
"Viivika Mitt gave me a small piece and told me: take this and tell me what you feel," Sander recalls. According to him, some people who touched the object reported feeling cold, heat, or even electric shock.
Sander admitted that he was drawn into these stories and decided to experiment himself. "I even put it under my pillow overnight to see if it would bring dreams or some kind of experience. But unfortunately, I'm a completely insensitive person," he said with a smile.
During the show, Sander also recounted eerie folklore surrounding the Merivälja object. According to him, for years people told stories of visitors to the site falling ill, becoming aggressive, or dying young. Additionally, there were said to be strange incidents involving animals in the area. In one story, Sander describes how a dog suddenly jumped at thin air and started howling.
Sander shared several theories about the Merivälja object during the show: it could be an ancient system, some kind of control mechanism, or even a mystery from pre-Ice Age times, in his view. "There are theories galore, but one thing is certain: this topic is not going away," he said.
