18-year-old Estonian heptathlete Mia Mireia Uusorg made a significant breakthrough last weekend at the team Baltic Championships in the Latvian city of Valmiera, improving her personal best by as much as 433 points.

Uusorg surpassed the 6000-point mark for the first time and broke the Estonian U20 age category record. The young athlete herself said the result came as a major surprise. "Very much a surprise that I managed to put together such a competition," she said.

This is a remarkable achievement among Estonian track and field youth. Breaking the 6000-point barrier is an important milestone in multi-events that distinguishes top-level young athletes.
