Mihkels delivered consistent performances throughout the three-week race, placing inside the top ten on five separate stages. His debut Grand Tour appearance has drawn attention in Estonian cycling circles and hinted at a promising future on the professional circuit.

Reflecting on his performance, Mihkels expressed confidence in his own abilities while acknowledging the role team support plays at the highest level. «I believe that with a better team, I am capable of more,» the Estonian said after the final stage.

The Giro d'Italia is one of cycling's three Grand Tours, alongside the Tour de France and Vuelta a España. A top-five stage finish and five top-ten results on debut marks a strong introduction to that level of competition for the young Estonian.
