Ida-VirumaaIn spring 2026, Narva honoured 47 high school graduates who achieved medal results, 33 young people received gold medals and 14 received silver medals. Following tradition, the mayor held a reception for medalists on 10 June at Narva Town Hall, where the city presented specially designed commemorative medals and monetary prizes.
Prizes and medals
Gold medalists received 320 euros from the city and silver medalists received 200 euros. In addition, all award recipients received medals specially commissioned by Narva City Government. Narva's cultural department explains that the medal depicts an aurochs and a crown, which are taken from Narva's historical coat of arms, believed to date from Danish rule between 1265-1343 and which was once used as the city's seal. Aurochs hunting was one of the most important sources of livelihood for the townspeople of Narva at that time.
