Neuville on Japan rally: We cannot be compared to Toyota

2024 world champion Thierry Neuville admits that Hyundai is clearly behind Toyota in asphalt rallies. The Japan WRC round was difficult for the team, but Neuville is hopeful for the summer.

2024 WRC world champion Thierry Neuville is disappointed with Hyundai's performance in asphalt rallies. At the Japan WRC round, the Belgian and his teammates' pace was simply too slow compared to Toyota to seriously compete.

Neuville admitted frankly that in the current situation, there is no point for Hyundai to compare itself to Toyota – the gap is too large. He has secured one victory this season, but on asphalt the team has been visibly weaker.

However, the world champion is characteristically optimistic: the Japan rally is in the past for him and his focus is on the summer months, when he hopes to turn the season around with his team.
