The Food and Veterinary Board (PTA) announced that no salmonella bacteria were found in samples from 11 additional batches of Reeva instant noodles sold on the Estonian market. The inspection was carried out after salmonella was detected in two Reeva products, which caused illness in consumers.

Silvia Laiv-Mumm, chief specialist at PTA's scientific expertise service, explained that the additional samples were necessary to determine whether salmonella was present in other Reeva instant noodle products available on the Estonian market. "After the Health Board confirmed five cases of illness related to the consumption of a specific Reeva instant noodle product, PTA decided to send other Reeva products sold on the Estonian market to the laboratory for analysis on a random basis," she said. No salmonella bacteria were detected in the analysed products.

Laiv-Mumm reminded that food should always be prepared according to the manufacturer's instructions. "This is important both from a food safety and quality perspective; the product has its best characteristics and flavour when prepared exactly as the manufacturer has intended," she added.

PTA continues to warn against two batches of Reeva instant noodles in which salmonella was found: beef-flavoured noodles with batch number L0126 (best before 18.04.2027, weight 60 g) and chicken-flavoured noodles with batch number L0326 (best before 17.06.2027, weight 60 g). Consumers are urged to avoid these products.
