French woman Sylvie Yasmina (54) lived with five children in complete isolation under the violent hand of her abusive husband in Pakistan for nearly ten years. Police freed the family, exhausted and on the brink of collapse, after their son managed to alert the authorities. The abusive husband was arrested.

In Pakistan, 54-year-old French woman Sylvie Yasmina lived with five children in complete isolation for nearly ten years, subjecting all family members to to constant violence and fear.

The case came to light thanks to the eldest son, who found an opportunity to contact the authorities and filed a complaint with police. Police conducted a raid on the house, during which they discovered family members on the brink of exhaustion and arrested the abusive husband.

The rescued woman and children were taken to safety. The case has shocked both Pakistan and the international community, once again bringing attention to the issue of domestic violence and protection of victims suffering under isolation.
