Pevkur presents NATO mission medals to Ugandi crew at Naval Mine Yard
Defence Minister Hanno Pevkur presented NATO mission medals on Monday, 22 June 2026 at a ceremony at Tallinn's Naval Mine Yard to the crew of the minesweeper Ugandi for participation in international military operations. Ugandi has returned from a more than three-month deployment with NATO's Standing NATO Mine Countermeasures Group 1 (SNMCMG1). According to Pevkur, the Ugandi mission demonstrated the Estonian Navy's readiness in a changing security environment.

Ugandi recently returned from a more than three-month deployment with NATO's Standing NATO Mine Countermeasures Group 1 (SNMCMG1). The mission confirmed the Estonian Navy's capability to contribute to allied joint maritime operations in a demanding security environment.
Defence Minister Pevkur emphasised that the Ugandi mission was clear evidence of the Estonian Navy's readiness in a changing security environment and demonstrated that Estonia fulfils its obligations to NATO both on land and at sea.
