Rainer Saks: Russia's Dangerous Convoys in Ukraine's Southern Front Become Easy Prey

Security expert Rainer Saks writes that the Ukrainian military has intensified attacks on Russian military logistics in the southern direction and targets military objectives in occupied Crimea every night. Security expert and member of the Estonian Conservative Party Rainer Saks analyses how the Ukrainian military has significantly stepped up its attacks on Russian supply lines in the southern sector in recent weeks.

According to Saks, Ukrainian forces have managed to target Russia's most vulnerable logistics routes, particularly those delivering dangerous cargo such as ammunition and fuel to Russian units in the south. Continuous strike pressure is making these convoys increasingly vulnerable targets.

Crimea Remains Under Fire

In addition to logistics strikes, the Ukrainian military has turned occupied Crimea into a nightly target. Attacks are carried out systematically, aimed at degrading the peninsula's military infrastructure and slowing Russian supply operations across the entire southern front.

Saks emphasizes that military operations are accompanied by intense information warfare, psychological operations and information campaigns designed to disrupt Russian military decision-making and undermine morale.

Logistics as a Strategic Weakness

According to analysts, Russian military logistics has been one of the largest weaknesses throughout the war. Long supply lines, poorly protected convoys, and insufficient air defence make fuel and ammunition deliveries particularly vulnerable to precision weapons, which Ukraine has operated with increasing skill in recent months.

Saks's commentary indicates that Ukraine's strategy in the south is guided by a clear objective: through attrition tactics, to constrain Russian military capability and prepare for possible future operations.
