Russian state company Rosatom accused Ukraine's military of an attack on Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant, claiming that a Ukrainian combat drone hit the machine room building of the plant's sixth power unit.

According to Rosatom, the strike caused an explosion that created a hole in the machine room wall. The company stressed, however, that the plant's main equipment was not damaged in the attack.

Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant has been under Russian control since March 2022, when Russian forces seized the facility. The plant has remained at the centre of the conflict throughout the war, and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has repeatedly expressed concern about the plant's nuclear safety.
