Russia's Internet Safety League chief Yekaterina Mizulina has filed a complaint with the interior ministry against journalist Ksenia Sobchak over an interview that appeared on Sobchak's YouTube channel "Carefully, Sobchak". The complaint is based on the country's LGBT propaganda law.

The controversial episode was released on June 1 — the day International Children's Day is observed. The episode featured an interview with beauty blogger Igor Sinyak, whose content Mizulina says violates Russia's laws banning LGBT propaganda.

Russia adopted LGBT propaganda laws in 2013 and 2023, with the most recent expansion extending the ban to content aimed at adults as well. The laws prohibit the promotion of homosexuality, transsexuality and other sexual identities, and their enforcement has become increasingly active. Sobchak is known as an independent journalist who has repeatedly come under scrutiny from Russian authorities.
