The peony plantation established by Saaremaa Puukool has become an internationally renowned destination, attracting flower enthusiasts from Estonia and abroad. This year's blooming season has been exceptionally abundant, with delicate white, pink, coral and deep crimson varieties opening one after another, transforming the plantation's appearance day by day.

The Saaremaa Peony Festival stands apart from typical flower events in that it operates as a cut-flower production plantation. Visitors can witness firsthand how large-scale peony cultivation works and become acquainted with the diversity of the variety collection directly from the grower.

"We are now in a moment when the peony garden reveals its true grandeur and beauty. Right now, the greatest number of different varieties are in bloom simultaneously, and visitors can experience the diversity of peonies and the richness of colours, shapes and fragrances," explained Saaremaa Puukool head gardener Marko Toomere.

The plantation grows over 7,000 peonies in 68 different varieties. Since different varieties do not bloom simultaneously but gradually, the festival offers visitors fresh discoveries throughout June. This makes the event unique—the garden appears slightly different on every visit.

During the festival, visitors can purchase fresh cut flowers directly from the grower. At peak bloom, the selection is at its richest and freshly cut peonies go straight into home vases.
