Why is this combination problematic?

Both breakfast cereals and orange juice contain large amounts of rapidly absorbed sugars. When these two foods are combined, the body receives a massive dose of sugar in a short period, causing a sharp spike in blood glucose levels. This is inevitably followed by a surge in insulin production and then a rapid drop in blood sugar, leaving a person feeling exhausted and hungry just a few hours after breakfast.

Beyond sugar content, many commercial breakfast cereals are full of artificial additives, flavour enhancers, and preservatives. Orange juice, in turn, loses much of the fruit's natural fibre during the pressing process, effectively making it sweet sugar water with little nutritional value.
