Taaramäe finishes fourth in Japan Velotour opening stage in Kyoto
Estonian cyclist Rein Taaramäe finished fourth among the breakaway riders on Monday. The result came in the opening mass-start stage of the Japan Velotour (UCI 2.2), held over 106.1 km between Kyoto and Kyoto. Taaramäe rides for the Kinan Racing Team.

The stage was a 106.1-kilometre mass-start circuit running from Kyoto to Kyoto. Taaramäe, competing for the Kinan Racing Team, was active in the breakaway but ultimately came home in fourth place, missing out on a podium finish by mere seconds.
The Japan Velotour is classified as a UCI 2.2 event, meaning it attracts a competitive international field. Further stages are set to follow as the race continues across Japan.
