The first day of the disc golf major championship tournament held at Tallinn Song Festival Grounds delivered exciting surprises in the men's competition, with two young Estonian players standing out.

The day's best result was achieved by American Gannon Buhr with a score of -11, followed by his compatriot Ricky Wysocki at -10. Both performances were expected, as these are elite players in the disc golf world. However, a major surprise came from 19-year-old Roland Kõur and 20-year-old Ville Kivisilla, who both finished the opening day at -8 and qualified for tomorrow's lead group.

Such an achievement would probably not have been predicted by anyone before the tournament, two young Estonian men among the leaders on the disc golf major championship stage is an extremely encouraging sign for the future.

One of Estonia's more experienced players had a tougher day, remarking candidly: "Things can only get better in the coming days." Villmann's words suggest that he hopes to seriously improve his game in the days ahead.
