Tarmo Jüristo: Tallinn Administrative Court Confirmed that SALK's Research is Ordinary Civil Society Work
Tarmo Jüristo, director of the Liberal Citizen Foundation (SALK), believes the Tallinn Administrative Court's decision, which annulled rulings by the Political Parties Financing Supervision Committee (ERJK) against several parties in connection with SALK's research, has proved the legitimacy of SALK's activities. Jüristo does not believe the ERJK will appeal the court's decision. The court found that SALK's activities fall under political free expression and ordinary civil society work, which cannot be restricted under the Political Parties Act.
PoliticsThe director of the Liberal Citizen Foundation (SALK), Tarmo Jüristo, expressed satisfaction with the Tallinn Administrative Court's decision, which annulled rulings issued by the Political Parties Financing Supervision Committee (ERJK) against several parties in connection with SALK's research.
According to Jüristo, the court decision clearly confirmed that SALK's activities are part of political free expression and ordinary civil society work. In his view, it is not possible to prevent or restrict such activities on the basis of the Political Parties Act.
Jüristo added that he does not believe the ERJK will appeal the court's decision. In his opinion, the court's position was sufficiently clear that an appeal would not change the outcome.
