EstoniaTartu City Council has approved the detailed plan for the surrounding area of the sites at Kalda tee 5 and Kalda tee 11 in the Annelinn district and submitted it for public display. The main purpose of the plan is to enable the construction of a new Police and Border Guard Board (PPA) building.
According to the plan, the new administrative building may be up to six storeys high. This would resolve the PPA's current location on Riia Street, where the agency has long suffered from a shortage of space and working conditions have become cramped.
During the public display period, Tartu residents and interested parties can familiarise themselves with the plan and submit their views. The City Council will then decide on further proceedings regarding the plan.
