Tiina Jantson 35 years on: who will organize beauty pageants?

66-year-old Tiina Jantson has run the Miss Estonia pageant for 35 years without payment. She admits she sometimes questions why she does it, but continues out of a sense of duty as long as her strength permits.

Tiina Jantson (66) is one of the most enduring names in Estonia's beauty pageant landscape. She has led the Miss Estonia selection for 35 years and has done so largely without compensation.

Jantson admits that from time to time the question crosses her mind of why she sacrifices herself to such work. "Of course I ask myself sometimes why I do all this without payment," she says. But she finds the answer in her own sense of duty: once a task is taken on voluntarily, it must be fulfilled as long as strength allows.

Regarding the future, Jantson hopes that her son Eghert will be able to find a team to continue her work in due course. "When I can no longer manage, Eghert will surely be able to gather around him a team of men or women who will help continue my work," she says.

Jantson is convinced that organizing beauty events requires extraordinary dedication. In her view, you would not easily find another person who would be willing to devote decades to organizing beauty pageants.
