Isamaa Riigikogu member Tõnis Lukas writes that the Riigikogu spent a sleepless night during which the Isamaa faction opposed several initiatives from the current governing coalition. Lukas emphasises that Estonian people have the right to receive services in Estonian, and this principle should not be compromised.

One focus of the criticism is a plan to bring newly arrived criminals from Sweden to Tartu. Lukas considers this an unacceptable step that endangers local security and disregards the interests of Tartu residents. As a second contentious issue, he raises the matter of a dramatic increase in the number of public broadcaster board members, which he believes is intended to influence the outcome of the election for a new board chairman.

According to Isamaa, these are attempts to reshape state institutions important to Estonia in the interests of coalition politics. Lukas calls for standing up for Estonian statehood and Estonian-language services, emphasising that these are not merely formalities but values that are important for Estonia's identity and everyone's daily life.
